Two extra iron Tanks of 5,000 gallons each, have been fixed by the permission of W. Ho. Alexander on the elevated site Inland Lot No. 10 and are intended to be supplied daily from Pokfulam, and fitted with self-acting valves to distribute the water over the Robinson Road district
One extra Iron Tank of 10,000 gallons is also being fixed in the Public Gardens and supplied from
the ravine adjoining.

The time cannot now be far distant when I hope to be able to report the final completion of the
service.
The principal cause of delay has been, and in fact is still, owing to the inefficiency of the contractors for the Tanks.
I have also experienced throughout great difficulty in getting castings and fitter's work executed, the lack of Pattern Makers, Moulders and Fitters in the Colony being very
remarkable.
The rapid extension of the city and consequent increased demand for Water, the greatest
care will have to be taken especially
during the dry season of the supply and prevent waste. European should be placed in sole charge, and I
